Foreign students celebrate the National Day and Mid-autumn Festival with the local residents

More than 50 new students from Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, Croatia and Algeria visited the local community on 28th September, made a special trip to call on the local neighborhood and celebrated the upcoming National Day and the Mid-autumn Festival with the local residents.

During the visit, the foreign students learned the knowledge about the National Day and the traditions and customs about the Mid-autumn Festival. Luckily, the two holidays fall within the same week this year, thus Chinese people can enjoy an eight-day holiday with a more popular name of “Golden Week”. The most interesting part of the visit is making mooncakes, when the foreign students were taught how to make dough, fillings, wrappers and how to bake. It was more exciting for the young people to taste their self-cooked delicious mooncakes in China. Afterwards, the foreign students enjoyed a performance of Chinese traditional dancing and tried their hand at Chinese calligraphy.

For the foreign students, the visit was a good chance not only to experience the Chinese traditional culture but also to learn language, local customs and deepen the friendship with the local people.
